1. Functions & User Interface

1.2. Home Menu

Home Menu combines data entry management commands, measuring units definition commands and data visualization options.

1.2.1. Tasks submenu

This submenu includes New, Delete and Clear items that are intended to add, delete and clear task data version. New button is used to add new version of data for calculation task, Delete and Clear button is used to delete / empty data version row. Version of data can be added as a clon of existing one. To make this it is necessary to select a row in Data Version List, then use Clone Selected command in New item menu. New row in Data Version List will be added as a copy of selected.

1.2.2. Edit submenu

It contains Undo button that is used to cancel last data entry. Pressing this button user forces the program to cancel last data entry. A cursor is set to previous edited entry field.

1.2.3. Unit System submenu

It contains drop list to select the desired system of measuring units and Edit button to edit the current definitions for the unit domains within the measuring unit system. Pressing Edit button invokes Unit Systems dialog that is used for measuring unit systems management.

Unit System list is used to add new unit system or to select existing system. Domain settings list allows user to define work unit of measure and displayed number of decimal digits for each parameters' domain. Domain Usage list indicates which entities and tasks selected domain unit setting affects. To change measuring unit of any parameter it is necessary to change current measuring unit for domain that contains this parameter. A simple way to know parameter's domain is to point onto parameter entry field by mouse pointer (see Data Entry). The analog way is suitable for values in tables. It is required to point onto table header by mouse to get a help about column values domain.

1.2.4. Tools submenu

This submenu includes the button to run Units Converter utility, an item Columns Chooser to manage data visualization and Best Fit button to optimize data columns representation automatically.

Pressing Units Converter button invokes Unit Converter utility.

User actions to compute any measure value in desired measuring unit are:

  • Select the measure in drop list
  • Select initial unit of measure in the table From
  • Select a measuring unit to convert to (in the table To)
  • Set the value in initial unit of measure using Value entry field
  • Press Enter and find the values in other measuring units

Pressing Columns Chooser button invokes utility that provides the possibility to exclude (or return back) some input data columns from the list of displayed columns therefore the rest of columns become more readable and comfortable to edit. Use Drug and Drop technique for transferring column header to Customization list (and back) to stop (start) column displaying.

Pressing Best Fit button forces he program to resize columns in Data Versions list in default way.
